They explained that the roomkey only works in one specific orientation. I thought that was nice that they explained it. I apologise if this sounds sarcastic, it is interesting that the couple behind me at reception had not taken the trouble to listen and were complaining that the room key did not work! They were using it upside down! Unbeleivable Geoff. Staff really polite, friendly and down to earth. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant. I thought charging an extra quid on Sunday was a little cheeky though.

The staff were excellent and were so helpful after I was scammed by a fictitious vendor on the day of arrival regarding a previous booking with Booking.con. The staff understood I was a woman travelling alone and couldn't have been more respectful. My biggest thanks goes to Alan who worked on main reception everyday, who made sure I was looked after and was always cheerful even when I felt my worst.

The Brittania Hotel in Bolton is located on the outskirts. The rooms are similar to what you would get if you have booked into a travelodge or Premier Inn. Not sure if they did prices cheaper if you booked further in advance. Parking was easy and check in was hassle free. The bed was comfortable and the room was airy as they left the window open with it being a warm day.

Staff in the morning seemed very helpful and bubbly. It got the point where I booked another night. Unfortuntely the night staff don't seem as bubbly but staff at night can get tiring as I've done night shifts before so I don't blame them. They still helped out when the lift was having a weird issue where it had a mind of it's own though which I appreciated.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, access to the hotel was off the main road, quiet and a scenic view considering the location. Main hotel was lovely inside and well decorated. Room well furnished with sturdy, simple furniture as you'd hope and clean fresh towels provided along with clean mugs for your morning coffee.
